A New Play by Ailís Ní Ríain

Two men. One woman. Treacherously connected, yet, forever alone. It's a play about love, torment, memories and loss. They are suspended in a timeless place with only their memories for company. Should we ever have to ask for love? Poetic, rhythmic and highly nuanced, a 'trio' for voices.

Originally produced by award-winning Cork-based Corcadorca Theatre Company in Ireland in 2013, The Tallest Man in the World is a play about an unspeakable love, almighty difference and the torment of memory. The Tallest Man in the World was a finalist in the prestigious USA Eugene O’ Neill National Playwright’s Conference, and selected for the Great Plains Theater Conference readings in Omaha, Nebraska in June 2017.

Ailís Ní Ríain is an Irish contemporary classical composer and published writer for stage who aims to produce work that challenges, provokes and engages. A regular collaborator with artists in other art-forms, her artistic interests are diverse and combined with an unwavering desire to push and develop her artistic practice through each new project or commission. In November 2016 she was awarded the prestigious Paul Hamlyn Award for Composers. www.ailis.info
