THE ARMORY

The Armory is a comedy program inspired by NYC’s thriving indie comedy scene. It harbors house improv and sketch teams, readings, standups, experimental works, and so much more.

The Armory is for everyone - a supportive environment for the daring to shine. Our teams combine performers from all walks of improv - those who have never taken classes and those who have completed all the levels. We pair up folks from any school, or nowhere, based on what they bring to the table. 

While leveling up at schools is a great way to grow as an improviser, we wanted to see how it would work if we made our own rules. Thus, there is no right/only Armory way; everything is a tool in the belt and all styles of playing are valued. And so we support one another and believe in the best of people. We work to foster growth in our teammates and others. This is one of the only house team programs in the city with no levels or money spent required. Commitment, skill and support are the only requirements.

The Armory is people with energy and desire who just want to come together to be brave, crazy and hilarious.

Past/Current Armory members can be seen on UCB, PIT, Magnet, Annoyance, IO, Second City, North Coast, and Reckless teams as well as film, tv, and the web...which is pretty freaking sweet.
