Uncivil Heart

  • The Tank 312 West 36th Street, First Floor New York, NY 10018 United States (map)

What does it mean to be an American? Who would we be without this cultural moment? Where are the queers in our history?

Uncivil Heart is the story of a trans* soldier in the civil war, and his passion for a woman who is enslaved by his family. The questions of freedom, passing, and visibility in Uncivil Heart resonate from the 1850s into our own cultural moment, as we struggle again with how power destroys love.
