A sumptuous soiree where Baroque meets cabaret, this haunting musical event gives voice to the silent muses of Gustav Klimt's paintings through Maria, Lacy Rose's six-part song cycle for voice, piano, and string quartet. With an EP Release of "Mizzi" as well as the world premiere of "Ria" (the two trilogies that make up the Maria song cycle), and much more, it's a evocative evening of art, poetry, and music.

About the Artists
Lacy Rose is a classically trained vocalist, composer, and poet born and bred in Texas. While living in Austin she sang regularly with the Texas Early Music Project and Austin Baroque Orchestra, in addition to hosting countless parlor concerts at the Sekrit Theater. Since moving to New York she has performed in such works as Mac Wellman’s The Offending Gesture, Pedro Reyes’s Doomocracy, William Burke’s Keeners, and Alaina Ferris's Raid 2.0/Myrmidon. In August she made her Mostly Mozart Festival debut in the Schubertiade Remix at Lincoln Center alongside members of the International Contemporary Ensemble. As a composer of neoclassical art songs, Lacy regales her audience with tales of magic, myth, tragedy, and love. She recently completed a three movement EP entitled Mizzi (arranged for strings by John K. Stone) which explores the inner life and personhood of Gustav Klimt's muse, Maria Zimmermann. John Stone is Composer and Music Director for The Paper Bag Players, the children's theater company, with whom he performs 120 shows annually throughout the Northeast. His Langston Hughes song-cycle, “Daybreak in Alabama,” was featured in the nationally broadcast radio series, “Song of America,” hosted by Thomas Hampson, and has been performed nationally and internationally, most recently by Met soprano Molly Fillmore. Theater and film credits include the scores for Vanessa Redgrave's production of Antony and Cleopatra and Alister Sanderson’s “Herbarium,” a documentary on preservation work at the New York Botanical Garden. Mr. Stone has collaborated with numerous choreographers including Brian Brooks and Kun-Yang Lin, and is Artistic Cofounder and Music Director of the modern dance group Ariane Anthony & Company. Stone made his Mostly Mozart Festival debut with a string quartet arrangement performed by members of the International Contemporary Ensemble in collaboration with singer/composers Lacy Rose and Alaina Ferris. String quartet with a modernist pulse, members of the New York- and Berlin-based Osso have collaborated and performed with an array of artists and genres, including Jay-Z, Alice and Ravi Coltrane, The New Pornographers, My Brightest Diamond, The Polyphonic Spree, The National, Devotchka and Kanye West. Their performance of interpretations of Sufjan Stevens’ electronica album Enjoy Your Rabbit—each song named for a year of the Chinese zodiac—recomposes computer keystrokes into rhythmic classical arrangements, bridging the drama of experimental electronica, indie rock and the nuance of chamber harmonies.
Alaina Ferris is theater composer, music director, and educator. Recent compositional and music directing work includes: Shakespeare’s ‘Pericles, Prince of Tyre,’ directed by Charise Greene at Barnard College/Columbia University; collaborating with Justine Levine for Joshua William Gelb’s 150th anniversary production of ‘The Black Crook’; Mia Rovegno’s ‘Nothin’s Gonna Change My World’; Mac Wellman’s ‘The Offending Gesture’ directed by Meghan Finn. She is currently composing for William Burke’s ‘The Keeners,’ and collaborating with director Sarah Hughes on a new project titled, ‘Raid 2.0/Myrmidon’ — a song cycle about how video games and virtual realities provide safe havens for trauma processing.
Colin Fullerton is an award-winning guitarist from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Marked by sincerity and a heightened sense of drama, his work as a classical soloist has taken him across the United States and Europe. Since completing his master’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin in 2016, he has lived in NYC and collaborated extensively with musicians across a variety of genres, performing regularly at such cutting-edge venues as The Owl Music Parlor and National Sawdust. A proponent of new music, he was a founding member of the “Blue Morpho” contemporary ensemble at the Schwob School of Music, and he has premiered and recorded multiple chamber works by New York-based composers. As writer and arranger, Colin composes music for his trio with pianist Ryan Dodge and drummer Jacob Cavell, and he arranges the guitar parts for his duo with lyric poet Lacy Rose.
John Albert Harris is a producer of music theatre and cinematic graphic novels. He is currently the Director Operations for the Argento New Music Project and a Marketing Associate with Victory Theatrical at The Players Theater. He is co-producer of the hit Off-Broadway play Puffs, or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic at New World Stages. He also works with The Nouveau Classical Project, an all-women contemporary classical music ensemble, where he was previously an intern. John is currently producing North Pond, a new chamber musical by Ben Morris, musical theatre works by Alberto Nevada Lozano, and 7Songwriters, a cross-genre concert series
